Getting Ready, Details + Venue.
Baylee + Aaron were married Sunday, September 26th of 2021 at The Something Blue Berry Wedding Barn in Gobles Michigan.
The details were coordinated so that Baylee's Maid Of Honor, her sister's cinnamon-colored dress would match Aaron and his brother, his Best Man's tie, and pocket squares. The same color that Baylee's father wore as well. The cinnamon color complimented the shades of blues of The Something Blue Berry Wedding Barn. I also paired our baby blue Mrs. Box with the engagement ring to just make an extra pop!
The hair and make-up artist, Lauren Suzanne, @lauren_suzanne_salon did amazing with their hairstyles and their make-up looked flawless! I was obsessing over getting close-ups of Baylee's eyeshadow that enhanced her stunning blue eyes.
First Look.
When Baylee came out, all dolled up in her Davids Bridal gown, looking like the perfect bride, Aaron was all smiles. We let them share a moment, be goofy, and then took a couple of portraits in front of their reception barn before they signed their marriage certificate.
Ceremony In The Woods.
Something Blue Berry Wedding Barn offers two locations for the ceremony site, Baylee and Aaron felt that their location in the woodsy area was a better fit for them. Their Officiant, Tom Hamel led the ceremony wonderfully and honorably introduced us to the newlyweds, Mr. + Mrs. Pearce!
Once at dinner with Baylee and Aaron, Aaron told us about Baylee's love for thrift shopping. Something she and I absolutely have in common! We chitter chatted about all the local places, Josh and Aaron teased us about our love for things one might find in their Grandma's house. However, in all seriousness, Baylee has a talent for finding gems at thrift stores or just good deals at places! One of these things was her father's tie clip, which said, "Father Of The Bride.". How perfect a token for her father on her wedding day as he plans to walk his little girl down the aisle?
Family is always important, especially on big days like your wedding day, and this was no exception in Aaron and Baylee's book. Their wedding party consisted of their siblings and nieces.
First Portraits Married
Shoe Game.
The shoe game is a super fun way to learn more about the couple! If you haven't heard of the game before, the couple sits back to back, taking off their shoes and each having one of their own shoes and one of their partners. The DJ or one of their wedding party people will ask them questions like, "who has a better sense of humor?", and the couple holds the shoe in which they think answers the question.
Baylee + Aaron had some good reactions at their questions, but the best one in my opinion was, "who said I love you first?", and they both held up Aaron's dress shoe. Their guests all awed their response in unison.
Blue Truck Portraits.
One of the things The Something Blue Berry Wedding Barn is known for is their vintage blue Ford pick-up. Baylee mentioned being excited about it for photos during one of the times we got together to chat about their wedding day. I can definitely see why she was looking forward to it! The truck made for a great spot for their detail photos, and some of their golden hour portraits. We had lots of fun getting creative images. It was also a pleasant reminder of why I always wear athletic shorts under dresses. ;)
Dances, Cake, Birdies + Candles.
The reception barn was decorated beautifully and the John with Mid-Michigan Entertainment had the music ready for Baylee and Aaron's first dance. Since Aaron isn't much for dancing, they put their own spin on traditional dances by transitioning their first dance into their parent's dances. Afterwards, opening up the dance floor for everyone to join!
Their cake, with the cutest little cake toppers! As mentioned before, Baylee has a gift for treasure hunting for thrifty knickknacks, finding the adorable little wedding bird salt and pepper shakers that they adorned the top of their cake with. It was even cuter that it went with their one-of-a-kind guest book kind of because they asked that people leave their thumbprint on a tree, making themselves little birdies.
Finding unique thrifty treasures isn't where it stops though, Baylee is filled with all kinds of talents. Their wedding favors, handmade candles, poured by none other than the now Mrs. Baylee Pearce.
We love you!
Like all the weddings we help capture, we care very deeply about the connections we make with the couple and their families, but this one is a little extra special to us. We have been looking forward to Baylee and Aaron's wedding since we first heard of their engagement. Not because we expected to photograph it, but because we couldn't wait to celebrate their love and commitments to one another.
Josh considers Aaron a brother, he was even his Best Man at our wedding, and we have adored Baylee and her love for nicknacks since we met her. To have been able to help document their wedding day, and meet their families meant the world to us. Getting to witness their memories be made with the people who helped shape them into the wonderful humans that we value so much was a marvelous experience we know we won't forget. We hope that they love the images so far and we are extremely eager to show them the rest of their gallery once it's completed.
We have lots of love for you Baylee + Aaron. ♥
We are always cheering for your happiness, love, and success.
