October 23rd, 2021, Karah and Jeremey's wedding day, there was no shortage of happy tears, joyous laughter, and memory-making moments.
The Venue
Karah and Jeremey's wanted their wedding day to have a rustic feel, so what better a venue choice than Barn 1888?
With them being such family-oriented people it was also a perfect fit since Barn 1888 is a family-owned business. They're located at 1888 128th Ave
Hopkins, Mi... Their venue offers so many dreamy photo locations, and conveniently has everything you need right on site.
It was GLP's first time photographing at this venue and we were not disappointed, everywhere you looked was lovely and everyone there was eager to make sure Karah and Jeremey's day went wonderfully. If you're looking for a rustic venue too, you should definitely consider scheduling a tour with Barn 1888!
Karah
Upon entering Karah and Jeremey's wedding venue, Barn 1888, we were instantly welcomed by excited family members helping the couple with their day.
We found the bridal suite, adorned with a sweet little sign, letting us know we were in the right direction. The space was a perfect size, complete with mirrors for getting ready, a half bath, and a picture-perfect seating area.
Through Karah and Jeremey's engagement session and timeline consultation, something I noticed was Karah's consistency in details. All her pretty details were ready for us to photograph, her itinerary for all her guests printed out, making my type-A heart fall even more in love with Karah.
Not only was she consistent with her details, but they were also all GORGEOUS. Her dress, from Bridal Gallery, was covered in stunning vintage lace and beading, matching her awesome cowboy boots, sparkly with hints of lace themselves! The floral bouquet, put together by Karah herself, with florals from Ling's Moment Florals, contained all their wedding day colors, navy blue, burgundy, and rose golds. Even some of the smaller details matched, making them all pop and match! Notice the navy blue gem in Karah's garter, the ring box... I was in heaven.
Karah had so many people there to help make their day the best day ever. Kellie, a good friend of Karah's did her make-up, which looked flawless, and Cassie Mohrland from Cassie’s salon did everyone's hair. Karah's party people made up of her closest friends and family, showering her with all kinds of love and support. So much support, that her sister and one of her party people, Kendra, even helped her put on her boots and all of her jewelry.
Jeremey
Jeremey had equally as wonderful wedding day details, his boots, classic leather western boots, brand new. A navy blue tux, with burgundy tones, and suspenders underneath from Dunhill Tuxedos, same as his party people. All with burgundy boutonnieres put together by Karah with florals from Ling's Moments Florals.
The party people on Jeremey's side also consisted of his closest friends and family, his best person, his twin brother, Josh. The ring bearer, his son, Brayden.
Jeremey's eldest child, Lylli, was also at the wedding, on Karah's side. For them to be a part of such a special day is amazing, but what's even more amazing to me is that they're able to see Karah and their Dad's friendship blossom to love, to witness true love and commitment. Being able to watch such a love is a rarity that most people only see being portrayed on TV.
The Ceremony
The couple opted for Barn 1888's outdoor ceremony location, under the cutest little chapel, with the depth of the clouds and sky behind them. The sky that the weather people said would house a storm, but only sprinkled a little bit. Their ceremony was officiated by Marcus Schmidt, who acknowledged the weather by bringing up a very valid symbolic point, wet knots are almost impossible to untie.
Jeremey walked in his Mother, new Mother-In-Law, and the Grandmothers down the aisle first. It was actually even Karah's Grandma's birthday! The couple made sure that she had a birthday present she would never forget, a beautiful wedding day, and made sure she was wished the happiest birthdays by everyone too.
After such a sweet ceremony, the couple released their guests to cocktail hour by shaking hands and giving big hugs to everyone in attendance. Cuuuueee the happy tears!
The Reception
The reception, which was filled with all the fun activities and celebrations was held in Barn 1888's main Gambrel Barn. The couple and their wedding party announced through the main barn entrance doors and went directly into speeches.
There were speeches by Karah's sister, brother, best friend, Jeremey's brother, and cousin. Lots of heartfelt sentiments that had everyone in that glowy barn getting all choked up. There was a line in Jeremey's cousin's speech, that stood out to me the most, it was something to the effect of, "I'm not sure who loves you more Karah, Jeremey, or Brayden.". Brayden is Jeremey's youngest, and you really could see his eyes light up whenever he looks at Karah. Even during their engagement photos, which we made a mini family session also, Brayden was often snuggling with Karah during the cozy poses and holding her hand.
Let's cue more happy tears! First dances, the traditional order of the newlyweds, Karah and Jeremey, to Father-Daughter dance, to Mother-Son dance... Then Jeremey and Lylli danced, followed by Karah and Brayden. That's where those tears really flowed.
They had cupcakes, vanilla, red velvet, and peanut butter chocolate, and a scrumptious-looking two-tiered cake by Sweet Cheeks Bakery.
During dinner, we chatted about whether or not we thought this couple would be a cake-in-the-face kind of couple. Those we were sitting with guessed that they wouldn't be, but since I had the privilege of doing their engagement session so I knew that they were a pretty playful couple and guessed that they would definitely be cake-in-the-facing.
AND THEY DID!
Karah and Jeremey also had a bouquet toss, garter toss, and shoe game. Their DJ, The Karaoke Guy, played all the right songs and did a great job guiding the reception through all the exciting events.
