Somer A N D Jake
Somer + Jake have been friends since high school. They've seen all versions and seasons of life each other has gone through, from those high school days, to leaving for college, coming home from college and everywhere in between. 2017, the year they were both home from their separate colleges, they decided that they needed to see just where these more than friends feelings went.
Years later, they have a home together, two little cat cuties, Luna and Nova, and are now happily married. ♥
Here is a little bit of Somer + Jake's Wedding Day.
Details A N D Getting Ready
Somers details were all so perfectly selected! The colors matched all her wedding décor to a 'T'. Special memory items were included and she truly made sure that their wedding photos would be a reflection of their relationship and life together.
The wooden ring box is the box that held the customized ring made for Somer from Jake's Grandmother's diamond ring. The box carried the engagement ring to their, at the time, favorite go-to restaurant, where Jake would propose to Somer. The staff was in on the plan, writing "Will You Marry Me" in chocolate sauce on their brownie dessert.
I love the story, but even more, I love the little stories and versions that they each had to share. How Jake was nervous because Somer always ordered the brownie if she got dessert but that time almost ordered the other option. Or how Somer said that Jake had to carve into the ring box their initials so he knew which side to open. These two have such a playful, fun banter with their conversations. It's those memories and little stories inside the memories that show more of their personalities.

T H E Gift Exchange
The two of them had written letters to each other and wanted to exchange those last love letters before marriage and a gift before their ceremony.
Somer and I marveled at the gorgeous bracelet Jake picked out for her, but we also had to take a moment for the fancy box!
For Jake, Somer had the sweetest gift made for him; a customized pin, made with photos of Jake's Grand Parents. That way they could both be there for their special day too.

T H E Ceremony
Somer + Jake decided on their special date, June 17th, because Jake's Grandparents anniversary is on the 16th of June. This is the grandmother that Somer's ring has the same diamond. As well as because Somer and Jake started dating in 2017 so that will stand for 17th of June. Getting married in 2023, marks their 6 years together, which stands for the 6th month of the year.
Record Box Loft offers so much variety for the couples to have their wedding day set up unique to them. Somer + Jake chose for their ceremony to be set up under the twinkling lights, with the sunshine pouring in on them. They stood under the wooden arbor, adorned with stunning florals, with their long time family friend beside them, officiating their marriage and all their loved ones supporting, watching.
Family is E V E R Y T H I N G
Naturally, two amazing people come from two amazing families.
The way Somer + Jake made sure everyone was there, even in spirit and it was truly a beautiful thing to witness.
T H E Wedding Party
It was so clear that their wedding party people are THEIR PEOPLE. These are their inner circle of friends, the ones that they'd do anything for and vice versa. The closeness they had with their wedding party made their photos so unique to them and fun. I loved the silly glances they gave to each other, the inside jokes they shared and even hearing someone say to Somer, "OH! Somer! That's one of your best smiles!".
Everyone deserves to have their wedding party be their hype group.
Somer + Jake's generosity and top notch gift giving skills extended to their party people too. Somer gifting all those standing with her beautiful necklaces in their wedding colors. Matching, personalized sunglasses for those standing with Jake.
Mr. + Mrs. D A N G L E R
Capturing these two interacting and their love is honestly THE BEST. I knew the first minute of shooting during their engagement session that I would be obsessed with taking their photos, this feeling absolutely carried on to their wedding day.
T H E Party
If you had a chance to peek at their engagement session, you know that these two LOVE ice cream! They had to make sure to incorporate that love into their big day. With Somer being intentional with her choices in all the best ways, she went above and beyond choosing how to incorporate their love of the ice cream by choosing Red Tricycle Ice Cream Company. Forgoing having cake, they had individual ice creams for their guest and selves and it was so dang cute!
With ice cream, sweet sentimental speeches, delicious food catered by Gene Davis & Sons Catering and all the happy dancing and laughing, Somer + Jake's wedding will be talked about for YEARS.
G L P Love Note
Just in case it's not glaringly obvious, I am quite enamored with Somer + Jake. From first meeting with them on a Zoom call to their engagement session. the chats and the wedding day itself, every interaction with them had me liking them more and more. These two are the type of friends and people you want in your life. They will inspire you, be there for you and just be great energy to be around. To say that I'm incredibly thankful to have been a part of their wedding journey would be an under statement. However, I will still say it, I AM SO THANKFUL.
Forever cheering for you Somer + Jake and always sending you lots of love and light. Thank you for being amazing humans.
