Jordain + Stuart
Jordain and Stuart will be tying the knot amidst the picturesque beauty of Port 393 in Holland, Michigan, this October. Their love for the area and their shared passion for discovering new places is evident in every aspect of their lives.
When brainstorming unique locations for their engagement session, it was clear that they desired a blend of beach vibes with the charm of a wooded landscape. Tunnel Park emerged as the ideal choice, seamlessly combining both elements! Nestled in Holland, it offered the perfect backdrop for capturing their engagement session. With its sandy beach and woodsy trails, Tunnel Park totally deserves a spot on your list of must-visit parks!
First Stop
Before every session, we always inquire about preferred sides and any concerns to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Jordain and Stuart chuckled, confessing that they hadn't been in front of the camera enough to have strong preferences. They playfully added that they don't consider themselves "photo people." However, as soon as the session began, their initial hesitations melted away. Their natural charm and genuine affection shining through in the photos. Jordain's infectious laughter and radiant smiles perfectly complemented Stuart's evident pride and adoration as he looked at her. It was a joy to capture their dynamic and the undeniable chemistry they share.
I mean, look how ADORABLE these are?! And these were the very first photos we took!
The Tunnel
Next we headed over to The Tunnel part of the park. Which is such a unique scenic view! We had fun, having them do silly prompts like, wrap up like a pretzel, sway back and forth and try to kiss Jordain's face as you go! And of course, we had to do the timeless dip kiss!
Through The Tunnel
Venturing through the tunnel to reach the beach, we embraced the sandy adventure, allowing our boots to fill with sand as we made our way.
Woodsy Walks
For all our engagement sessions, we encourage couples to bring a couple of outfit options to provide variety in their photos. Typically, we recommend one slightly dressier ensemble and another more casual one. After playing on the beach, we had Jordain and Stuart switch outfits before heading into the wooded area.
Initially, I wasn't sure if the woodsy location would be ideal, especially considering it was late February and the greenery hadn't fully popped yet. However, to our pleasant surprise, the sunlight filtered beautifully through the trees, casting a warm glow over the earthy tones and really complemented their second outfit. Despite my initial reservations, these photos turned out to be some of my favorites from the session!
Final Stop
To conclude our session, we returned to the beach for one final set of photos. Despite the chilly sand, Jordain and Stuart boldly kicked off their shoes for some barefoot shots. However, the highlight of this part of the session was when I gave the prompt to sing a song they love. Jordain serenaded Stuart with Paramore's "Still Into You." to which I fully anticipated a playful rendition, but had a happy surprise by Jordain's lovely singing voice! Can you guess which photos captured this heartfelt moment?!
