"A mountain gal and a city lad met 5.5 years ago and simply knew from the start, through this life and our next, we’d be hand in hand, heart to heart. So, we’ve decided to make it official and tie the knot!"
And official they made it, on May 25th, 2024 at South Haven Creations, Lydia + Brandon, the Mountain Gal, and City Lad, had the most beautiful wedding day. ♥
Getting Ready At The 410
On the morning of Lydia and Brandon's wedding, I met Lydia at their cozy and boho-chic Airbnb located at 410 N. Shore Dr. South Haven, Michigan. It was the perfect place for getting ready, setting a warm and intimate tone for the day.
Lydia's hair and makeup were done by the incredibly talented Sara from Wild Bees Beauty. Sara created a stunning updo adorned with intricately placed stones and embellishments, paired with flawless makeup. Throughout the process, Lydia and Sara chatted and giggled as if they had been lifelong friends, making the atmosphere even more delightful.
The stunning florals, crafted specifically for Lydia and Brandon's special day, held an extra special touch. Lydia's sister, Ariyl, co-owner and lead designer of Briar Loft Floral, traveled from Wisconsin to be there. She used her floral magic to create gorgeous arrangements, adding a truly personal and heartfelt element to the celebration.

Getting Ready At South Haven Creations
Before Lydia + Brandon's First Look, we had took the short journey to South Haven Creations to grab some shots of Brandon getting ready too!
First Look + Private Vows
Another perk of Lydia and Brandon's charming Airbnb was its proximity to the beach. Just a short walk away was Oak Beach, where Lydia and Brandon had their First Look. If you're curious about whether a First Look would be a good fit for your wedding day, be sure to check out our blog dedicated to First Looks!
Following their First Look, Lydia's Aunt, who officiated their ceremony, joined them for their private vows. It felt almost like a private ceremony before the main event, creating a truly beautiful and sentimental moment for the couple.
Beachy Vibes
After their First Look and private vows, Lydia and Brandon were joined by their families on the beach. We had planned their timeline carefully, wanting to capture some family photos by the water, given how special Lake Michigan is to them. Bathed in sunshine and filled with smiles, the families gathered for these cherished moments, creating beautiful memories by the lake.
You + Me By The Waters Edge
In Lydia's vows to Brandon, she spoke beautifully about being together by the water's edge, expressing that as long as they are side by side, everything is right. While I'm summarizing her eloquent words, I found it incredibly symbolic that we took their portraits on the beach, near the water's edge of their favorite place, Lake Michigan. This setting perfectly reflected the essence of her vows and their shared love for this special location.
Ceremony + Family
Back at their venue, just a short distance from the beach and their Airbnb, we prepared for Lydia and Brandon's ceremony. Kelli from The Best Day Details, LLC, made sure everything was perfectly set.
During the ceremony, they once again found themselves bathed in sweet sunshine. With a beautiful backdrop of trees and surrounded by their loved ones, Lydia and Brandon promised to share their lives together in a heartfelt and memorable ceremony.
Quick family photos, signing of the marriage license, and then the couple joins their cocktail hour to celebrate with their favorite people.
Reception
Lydia and Brandon's reception was filled with laughter, happy faces, and a touch of magic!

A GLP Flair
In the past, we have mentioned we like to give our Lucky Lovers their first wedding print if we can. On Lydia + Brandon's day, we had the opportunity to do just that! While on their mini-moon, Lydia sent me a text:
"Right where we can see it on our road trip mini-moon!"
It makes my heart so happy! This whole journey with Lydia + Brandon has been such an adventure. From their engagement session in the chilly winter weather, the chats in between, to the big day. I'm incredibly thankful and honored GLP was there to help during such an important season in these two amazing humans' lives. Thank you, Lydia + Brandon. ♥
